Farm Family
"Hi, my name is Murphy and I am in charge here. I was the first goat and I have done a great job training Farmer Sharon to take good care of me and those I choose to let join us at Tranquility Acres. I am going to introduce you to some of my other fellow Nigerian Dwarf goat pals, as well as others we keep around here sometimes just for comic relief!

I will start with Ben and Jerry. They were here before me, but they learned quickly that GOATS RULE… They are really pretty nice and let us know when strangers arrive, but mostly they are at Farmer Sharon’s side wherever she goes. Here they are resting by the well house while Farmer Sharon is working next door at the Birthing Center.
That’s Wally. He is a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig. He came with some goats from Cane Creek Farm. When the goats found out that there were other goats here they left Wally and went with the other goats. Farmer Sharon thought that Wally must be sad and lonely (I think Wally really liked being an “only pig” myself), so she contacted Pot-bellied Pig rescue and, instead of getting one companion pig for Wally---she got THREE!!! In case you haven’t figured it out yet, Farmer Sharon is a soft touch, when it comes to animals and the rescue people figured that out pretty fast.

Anyway, Tawnie, Abbie and Mandy came to live with us at Tranquility Acres, when they were only a few months old and had to live at the barn until they were older. Now, however, they have joined Wally and they all live and play together. They are trying to get Wally to come play with them in their mud hole, but Wally said that he is coming back after they are out, because they always gang up on him and splash him with mud. I think Wally is a very smart pig…"

The Goat Pavilion is finally finished and ready for occupancy… It is 128x50 feet and will be the home of most of Murphy’s family during the winter. Farmer Sharon is ecstatic about having everyone in one place during the winter!!!
